Communication Connections
This week in language group we talked about the story of the Gingerbread
Man. We did not actually use the book to tell the story, rather we worked
from memory and used story sequence pictures to tell the story. We used
words like beginning, middle, and end. We talked about the characters in
the story. We all said the words of the Gingerbread Man together using
gestures to make it more fun!
“Run, run, as fast as you can. You can’t catch me I’m the Gingerbread
Man”
Following this, we drew a big gingerbread man on the white board. We
worked on decorating the cookie by talking a about details. Each child
picked something to add and we worked out the details such as number,
color, shape, straight/curly, and squiggly/straight. This task helps us add
descriptive details to our expressive language, as well as, improve our
receptive and expressive vocabulary.
Have a fabulous winter break! I look forward to seeing the children in 2020!
Happy New Year!
